Who knew holding a grudge could cause so much trouble? It does when the Grudge is a real-life downer that won’t go away, won’t leave you alone and brings all of his crummy friends along to bug you, too! It all starts simple enough, with a borrowed sweater mishap that eventually involves Gretchen’s sister, best friend and brother. Gretchen begins holding a grudge against all of them. Literally. The Grudge, who loves being held and sits on the couch next to her, invites his friends — the Moodkeeters, Peevish and Hothead, and finally the dreaded Doldrum family — all of whom hang onto Gretchen. As she sinks deeper into the doldrums, her friends and family desperately try to come up with ways to get her back to herself. Nothing seems to work until at last Gretchen comes to a realization in a musical and happy ending: only she can be responsible for getting rid of the Grudge and all his friends. This fun filled workshop with take you through auditions, rehearsalsand creating sets culminating in a perform for parents and friends at the showcase Friday, June 28.

In the nursery rhyme justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups — the detectives, who investigate the crime, and the magistrates, who prosecute the defenders. These are their rhymes. The Inspector and the Punnish Sir (Yes, he’s always scrambling for egg puns!) have been called in to investigate a crime scene where a Mister Humpty Dumpty has been found shattered and fowl play is suspected. Can they solve the c-rhyme? With hilarious musical numbers like “Mountain of Love,” “Eggicide” and “What the HONK Is Going On?,” the yolk’s on you if you think this tongue-in-cheek musical is for young children. There are so many puns and plot twists in this Law and Order spoof, even the playwrights were surprised by the ending! July 8-19 DRAMA CAMP: Just Like Us
cost $150    ages 5-14    1p-4p
Director: Jennifer Daniels
This important play for young children teaches a critical lesson about prejudice in a simplistic, non-preachy manner. The story is told by an old tree, who stands neglected in a park. On one side of the park live the poetry loving Greens. On the other side of the park the Blues reside, where they enjoy playing musical instruments. Sadly, there is nothing but intolerance, fear and hatred between the Greens and the Blues. Why? No one quite remembers, but these ingrained feelings diminish the quality of everybody’s lives, including the poor tree, who is left abandoned in the middle. When a storm brings the aqua and purple Allina to the park, both the Greens and the Blues learn some eye-opening lessons about each other and about life. This fun filled workshop with take you through auditions, rehearsalsand creating sets. Showcase July 19.
Supervision will be provided from 12-1 for any children wishing to attend both Arts & Crafts/Stage Combat and Drama Camp July 8-19 Must bring their own lunch.
